The job
Retile a family bathroom in porcelain: strip the old tiles, prepare and level the floor, board and tank the shower wall, then tile 6.5 m² of floor and 18 m² of walls. The customer is supplying nothing — the tiler prices supply and fit throughout.
The quote below separates preparation, labour and materials so the customer can see exactly what they are paying for — and so nothing gets swallowed on the day.

How the pricing works
Labour by the metre
Wall tiling is priced at £45/m² and floor at £50/m² — floors take longer per metre (cutting, levels, larger formats), so they carry a higher rate.
10% waste on tiles
24.5 m² of coverage is ordered as ~27 m² to allow for cuts, breakages and a spare box for future repairs. Straight-lay porcelain is fine at 10%; a herringbone or diagonal layout needs 15–20%.
Prep is priced, not assumed
Levelling, boarding and tanking are separate lines. Bury them and the first uneven floor or leaking shower wipes out the margin.
Materials at supply-and-fit
The tiler carries the tile and consumables cost with a small handling margin, so the customer gets one price and one point of responsibility.
What's excluded
Spelling out exclusions up front stops the awkward "I thought that was included" conversation later.
- Plumbing or moving the shower, bath or basin
- Electrical work (underfloor heating connection, extractor, lighting)
- Making good plaster beyond the tiled area, and decoration
- Removing or refitting sanitaryware
